Job summary

WeQuel is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer in Stockholm to join a device-focused development team working on connected products and IoT solutions. You will develop, integrate, and maintain embedded software for connected devices and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions.

The role requires strong Python skills, experience with device-level software and embedded systems, and the ability to work independently in an agile environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in embedded software development and IoT/connected device solutions.
• Solid programming skills in Python.
• Experience with device-level software, firmware, or embedded systems.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, testing, and system integration.
• Fluent English, spoken and written.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical challenges.
• Previous experience from large-scale industrial, automotive, transportation, or connected-product environments is highly valued.
• Pragmatic, collaborative, solution-oriented, and calm and structured in approach to complex technical challenges.
• Comfortable working in cross-functional and international teams; willingness to be onsite when required.

Responsibilities

• Design, development, and maintenance of embedded software for connected devices
• Contribution to architecture and implementation of IoT solutions
• Development and optimization of software components using Python and other relevant technologies
• Support for integration between device software, cloud services, and backend systems
• Troubleshooting, debugging, and improvement of system performance and reliability
• Collaboration with engineering, product, and operations teams in an agile environment
• Senior‑level guidance to create stability and structure within the development team
• Participation in code reviews and promotion of software engineering best practices
