Job summary

Cyberway is seeking a Data Engineer to join our Malmö-based team. You will design and implement scalable data pipelines, collaborate with clients and colleagues, and work with modern cloud technologies across Azure and Google Cloud.

The role emphasizes handling large-scale datasets and optimizing data platforms, with strong communication in English and/or Swedish. You will contribute to a culture driven by transparency, trust, and continuous learning.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer.
• Strong SQL and Python skills.
• Experience designing scalable data pipelines (ingestion, transformation, semantic modeling).
• Understanding of data warehousing and ETL/ELT concepts.
• Experience with large datasets (billions/trillions of rows) is valued.
• Familiarity with metadata management, performance tuning, and cost optimization is a plus.
• Ability to work both independently and in agile teams.
• Excellent communication in English and/or Swedish.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer with strong knowledge of data modeling (dimensional modeling, star schemas, partitioning, and clustering)
• Hands‑on experience with either:
• Microsoft Azure (Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, Azure Storage, Microsoft Fabric, and Power BI)
• Google Cloud Platform (GCP) (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer, and CI/CD)
• Strong programming skills in SQL and Python
• Experience designing and building scalable data pipelines, including data ingestion, transformation, and semantic modeling
• Solid understanding of data warehousing, ETL/ELT concepts, and modern data platform architectures
• Experience working with large‑scale datasets and optimizing high‑volume data processing (including tables containing billions or trillions of rows) is highly valued
• Familiarity with metadata management, performance tuning, and cost optimization is an advantage
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in agile teams
• Excellent communication skills in English and/or Swedish

For this role, we are looking for someone based in Skåne, as many of our clients and projects are located in the region.
