Job summary

CorPower Ocean in Sweden seeks a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Composites) to deliver advanced composite structures for Wave Energy Converters, guiding design, analysis, manufacturing, testing and certification. You will lead material selection, layups, and verification methods, collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain, and ensure robust, cost-effective solutions at scale.

Qualifications

Degree in mechanical/structural engineering or related field.
5+ years in composite design and analysis.
Experience with high-performance composite products.
Proficient in FEA for composite structures and validation.
Strong CAD/PLM skills and documentation practices.
Experience with DNV/IEC certification pathways.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end design and development of large composite structures from concept to production release.
Perform composite structural analysis and fatigue sizing with hand calculations and FEA.
Select materials and processes (e.g., filament winding, VARI) to meet targets.
Produce calculations, test reports, and certification documents.
Drive design-for-manufacture and feedback loops to improve robustness.
Support supply chain activities and factory acceptance testing.
Mentor engineers and ensure safety-focused design culture.
Represent CorPower with customers and certification bodies on composite tech.
