Job summary

EG Group's Mestro team in Stockholm is hiring a Senior Backend Developer to own the backend platform, design and implement services, and drive architectural decisions. The role is permanent, full-time with a hybrid set-up, combining days on-site in Stockholm with remote work.

You will architect, implement, and operate backend systems using Java, Azure, Kubernetes and MS SQL, while mentoring teammates and ensuring high-quality, scalable solutions for energy efficiency across Europe.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of professional backend development experience.
• Deep knowledge of Java with strong MS SQL and Azure backgrounds.
• Hands-on experience building and running applications in Kubernetes.
• Strong software architecture and distributed systems understanding.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own the backend services and APIs for the Mestro platform.
• Drive architectural and technical decisions and own their consequences.
• Deploy, monitor, and operate applications in Azure and Kubernetes.
