Job summary

BROCC is expanding its Nordic fintech platform. We are looking for a Backend Developer to own server-side logic, databases, and integrations that power digital savings and lending across the Nordic region. You will design, build, and maintain secure, scalable services used by B2C and B2B customers.

Ideal candidates have several years of backend development with Python/Django, strong AWS experience (EKS/Lambda), and a broad engineering profile across the stack. English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Several years of backend development experience with Python/Django.
• Strong proficiency across the stack, not limited to one language.
• Hands-on experience with containerised apps and cloud-native architecture on AWS (EKS, Lambda).
• Understanding of CI/CD (GitHub Actions).
• Interest in AI-assisted engineering and tools like Claude Code is a plus.
• Domain knowledge of finance, lending, savings workflows is helpful.

Now, we're looking for a Backend Developer to join our growing team and take ownership of the systems that power how customers across the Nordic region save, borrow, and manage their finances.

What You'll Do

As a Backend Developer, you will play a central role in developing and maintaining the company's financial systems. You will create and maintain the server‑side logic, databases, and integrations that power our applications, take part in the design and architecture of backend systems, and help build robust, secure, and efficient services used by customers across the Nordic region in both B2C and B2B environments.

Your daily tasks will include:

• Develop and maintain server‑side logic and APIs.
• Work with databases to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Integrate applications with third‑party services.
• Participate in the design and architecture of backend systems.
• Implement solutions that are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
• Identify and resolve performance issues.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, system architects, and other team members.
• Participate in meetings and forums to discuss development projects and strategies.

Who You Are

More specifically, you bring:

• Several years of backend development experience, with strong proficiency in Python (Django or a comparable framework).
• A broad software engineering profile and genuine curiosity across the stack, rather than reliance on a single language.
• Hands‑on experience with containerised applications and cloud‑native architecture on AWS, ideally including EKS and a serverless paradigm (Lambda).
• An understanding of CI/CD (e.g. GitHub Actions).
• Curiosity about and openness to agentic, AI‑assisted engineering, with hands‑on experience of tools such as Claude Code seen as a strong advantage.
• Domain knowledge of finance, credit, lending, savings workflows, or similar (helpful when working effectively with AI agents).
• A post‑secondary education in IT, computer science, or a related field.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
