Job summary

Mynt is seeking a Backend Staff Engineer in Stockholm to lead the re-architecture of the Expense system, a core part of the product that serves multiple teams. You will define clear API contracts, ensure scalability, and work with stakeholders across product and engineering.

The role requires experience in Java backend development, with a track record of building robust, high-availability systems. You will mentor peers and contribute to long-term technical roadmaps while aligning with agile

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with backend development using Java, with high availability and accuracy demands.
• Experience with MongoDB, MySQL, Redis, AWS, Docker, and CircleCI is a strong plus.
• Genuine curiosity for growing as an engineer and leader with a team-first mindset.
• Fluent in Swedish and English.

Responsibilities

• Lead the re-architecture of the Expense system, core to Mynt's product line.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and other stakeholders to set technical roadmap.
• Mentor junior colleagues and deliver robust, enterprise-grade solutions iteratively.
• Drive architectural decisions and guide software development in an EMI-licensed environment.
