Viaplay Group in Stockholm is seeking a Senior Backend AI Engineer to join our AI Lab. You will build AI-enabled backend services, design APIs, and integrate AI capabilities into our products.

The role blends depth in backend engineering with cross-disciplinary collaboration across product and design teams. You will work in a lab-driven setup with short feedback loops, evolving to ongoing product responsibilities as we learn what works.

Qualifications

• Proven backend depth in Rust or Node.js/TypeScript.
• Service and data design, APIs, integrations, and secure production software.
• Experience with automated testing, debugging and production observability.

Responsibilities

• Turn product scope into working backend services.
• Design, build and maintain backend services, APIs and integrations.
• Contribute beyond backend with frontend, prototyping or validation with users.
• Apply and improve AI-assisted workflows across development, testing and validation.
• Integrate AI-driven capabilities that add product value.
• Guide implementation using data and user insights; evaluate outcomes.
• Improve security, performance, reliability and maintainability as products evolve.
• Participate in deployment, monitoring and operation of software.
