Job summary

Intrum invites a Senior AI Engineer to design, build and operate AI solutions across text, voice and conversational interfaces in a highly international environment.

You will collaborate with colleagues across product, data, operations, sales, customer interaction, risk and compliance to deliver secure, reliable AI services. Location is Stockholm (Sickla) Hybrid.

Qualifications

• Experience building and operating AI-enabled applications.
• Experience with text, speech, audio or conversational AI, preferably in Swedish.
• Experience working with advanced AI models through APIs.
• Experience across the AI development lifecycle, including testing, deployment and monitoring.
• Understanding of APIs, cloud platforms and modern software engineering practices.
• Awareness of security, data protection and responsible AI.

The role

We are looking for a Senior AI Engineer to design, build and operate AI solutions using text, voice and conversational interfaces.

You will collaborate with colleagues across product, data, operations, sales, customer interaction, risk and compliance to deliver secure, reliable and useful AI solutions.

The role will report to Head of Data, AI, & Automation.

Location for this position is Stockholm (Sickla) Hybrid work.

Purpose of role

• Build reliable and scalable AI solutions that improve customer interactions, support employees and automate business processes.
• Turn emerging AI capabilities into production-ready services that are secure, measurable and easy to integrate with existing platforms.
• Design and build AI applications using text, voice and conversational interfaces.
• Develop agentic AI solutions that interact with data, tools and business systems.
• Integrate AI services with platforms such as Genesys, ElevenLabs or similar technologies.
• Build solutions using advanced AI models provided through APIs.
• Ensure strong performance for Swedish text, speech and audio.
• Take AI solutions from prototype to production, including testing, deployment and monitoring.
• Evaluate solution quality, reliability, response time and cost.
• Improve solutions based on user feedback and operational results.
• Apply security, data protection and responsible AI practices.
• Document technical solutions and support knowledge sharing across teams.
• Work with business and technology teams to identify and deliver valuable AI use cases.

Your Background

You have a degree, or equivalent experience, in computer science, engineering, data science, AI or a related field.

We believe you also have:

• Experience building and operating AI-enabled applications.
• Strong programming skills, preferably in Python.
• Experience working with advanced AI models through APIs.
• Experience with text, speech, audio or conversational AI, preferably in Swedish.
• Experience building agentic AI solutions that interact with tools, data and business systems.
• Experience across the AI development lifecycle, including testing, deployment and monitoring.
• Experience integrating with communication, contact-center or voice platforms such as Genesys, ElevenLabs or similar.
• Understanding of APIs, cloud platforms and modern software engineering practices.
• Awareness of security, data protection and responsible AI.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience from financial services, customer service or another regulated industry is an advantage, but not essential.
