Job summary

Boliden Mineral AB is seeking a Graduate Rock Mechanics Engineer as part of Gen B. The role spans one year with rotations across Boliden sites in Sweden and Portugal, starting in 2027.

You will join a permanent position from day one and benefit from an individual development program and mentoring as you build expertise in rock mechanics within mining operations. The program blends field observations underground with technical analysis, supporting safe and economically sound mining.

Qualifications

• Master's degree with a clear focus on Mining Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Rock Mechanics or equivalent rock-mechanics-focused studies.
• A relevant Bachelor's degree may also be considered if it has a strong focus on mining, geotechnical engineering and/or rock mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Participate in rock mechanics risk assessments and geotechnical investigations.
• Carry out geotechnical mapping and underground inspections.
• Analyze rock conditions using field observations, measurements, and technical data.
• Support technical assessments and recommendations for safe mining operations.
• Combine theoretical knowledge with practical problem-solving underground.
• Collaborate with colleagues across mining operations and technical functions.
• Build specialist competence through hands-on experience and continuous learning.
