Job summary

Ericsson is seeking researchers in Stockholm to invent, implement, and evaluate video coding tools powering 6G standards. You will work on signal processing and neural approaches, and contribute to standardization efforts.

You should have an MSc or PhD, strong coding skills in C++ and/or Python, and a passion for solving hard problems in a collaborative, international team. Exceptional candidates will influence the next generation of video coding and AI-native media.

Qualifications

• Hold an MSc or Ph.D. in a relevant technical field.
• Write high‑quality, efficient code and are strong in C++ and/or Python.
• Are curious, collaborative, and able to communicate complex ideas clearly.

Responsibilities

• Invent novel video coding tools (signal processing and neural approaches) to improve video coding performance and efficiency as well as invent ways to increase robustness and flexibility of video coding standards.
• Implement inventions in software (C++/Python) and run large‑scale evaluations.
• Contribute to global video coding standardization such as JVET/MPEG, author patents and publications.
• Collaborate with researchers and engineers across Ericsson as well as leading industry and academia experts globally.
• Be working in a dynamic team with opportunities for learning, taking on new responsibilities, impacting ways of working, and much more.
