Job Overview

R&D Engineer - Analog Electronics Hardware Design

Location: Ludvika, Dalarna County, Sweden.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain valve electronics products that form the core of HVDC – High Voltage Direct Current systems.
• Perform requirement management and develop design specifications and documentation.
• Create robust designs within cost and time constraints, with a product lifecycle management perspective.
• Lead the design through all steps from rapid prototyping to final system verification using the company’s tools, labs, and electronic hardware development cycle.
• Ensure the design aligns with safety and integrity core values and supports multi-functional hardware, software, and system architecture teams.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering or related field, preferably Master’s level or higher.
• 8+ years of experience in analog/power electronics hardware development.
• 5+ years of experience with industry-standard schematic capture and PCB layout tools.
• Proven experience in discrete analog electronics design (transistor-level analog front-end/output stages, amplifiers, comparators, converters, gate drivers).
• Experience with simulation, measurement techniques and correlating theory with practice.
• Knowledge of EMI, EMC, grounding, and low-noise board level design.
• Board bring-up and debugging skills; experience with lab equipment and test setups for analog signal measurements.
• Experience in product/system verification and environmental testing.
• Practical knowledge of DFx (DFM, DFA, DFT), manufacturing of PCBs and PCBAs.
• Understanding of electronic hardware development life cycle and obsolescence management.
• Familiarity with multi-functional hardware, software, and system architecture teams.
• Optional: ability to write test software for hardware verification, PLM tools usage, reliability analysis (MTBF, FMEA, FTA).
