Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Ludvika, Sweden invites a Quality Engineer to drive quality and process improvements in our power transformer manufacturing environment. You will lead root cause analyses, maintain ISO 9001, support supplier qualification, and educate staff on quality tools, with Power BI data analysis to monitor performance.

The role emphasizes continuous improvement, cross-functional collaboration, and the use of Lean Six Sigma methodologies to reduce deviations and optimize costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, quality management, or a related technical field.
• Proven experience in quality engineering or quality management within a manufacturing environment.
• Good knowledge of quality tools, quality systems and methods for root cause analysis.
• Experience with Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement methods (Green belt, appropriate level)
• Experience in conducting audits and working with ISO standards
• Proficiency in data analysis tools, including Power BI.
• Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and a structured approach to problem-solving.
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English both in speech and writing.

Responsibilities

• Drive quality and process improvements in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards for products and manufacturing processes while ensuring compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, and internal procedures.
• Lead root cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive measures to eliminate quality problems and prevent recurrence.
• Monitor production quality performance, analyze quality data, and identify opportunities to improve processes and reduce deviations.
• Analyze Failure Costs (COPQ) and drive initiatives that improve quality performance and optimize costs.
• Initiate and lead quality improvement projects using Lean Six Sigma methodologies and continuous improvement tools.
• Conduct system, process and product audits, ensuring compliance and readiness for certification requirements.
• Maintain and continuously improve the ISO 9001 quality management system.
• Support supplier qualification, evaluation and development activities to ensure consistent quality standards throughout the supply chain.
• Educate employees on quality tools and practices while promoting quality awareness throughout the organization.
