Job summary

Winthrop Engineering & Contracting in Sweden seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead a large mechanical and electrical installation in Sandviken. You will oversee a team of supervisors and subcontractors to keep the programme on track.

The role requires at least 10 years in ME contracting, strong organizational and communication skills, and proficiency with MS Word and Excel. Data centre projects are advantageous and near-term site leadership is essential.

• Review and audit cost estimates prepared by subcontractors.
• Support engineering decisions during design-build changes.
• Ensure equipment meets the project schedule.
• Coordinate scheduling consultant reviews.
• Review and approve final invoices and payments.
• Oversee project handover and warranties at closeout.

Due to continued expansion, we are pleased to announce that we are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team. This position will be based in Sandviken

The Project Manager will oversee a team of Mechanical & Electrical Supervisors and Sub Contractors as they carry out Mechanical & Electrical installation within a large Mechanical & Electrical systems and ensure the project programme is kept. The Project Manager must be effective at motivating their team, as well as giving a frank but constructive assessment of the work done.

Responsibilities:

• Manage overall project cost, schedule and budgets.
• Manage Sub Contractors and other directly contracted vendors and consultants.
• Analyse, track and effectively manage critical milestone activities to avoid schedule slip.
• Review construction proposals and related pricing/scopes.
• Identify factors that influence construction costs and monitor and report on this data.
• Review, validate and audit cost estimates prepared by sub contractors and others within a client’s organization.
• Support engineering decisions relating to the project cost and budget while design-build changes take place during construction.
• Track and ensure equipment meets the project schedule.
• Coordinate and oversee scheduling consultant reviews on the project.
• Review and approve final invoices, payment applications, retention payments.
• Oversee and manage the transfer of the construction to the client including all close out documentation and warranties
• 10 years of previous experience in a similar role, within a Mechanical and Electrical contracting environment is essential
• Data Centre experience is advantageous
• Excellent organisational, communication and time management skills
• Proficiency in the use of MS Word & Excel is required
