Job summary

Hilding Anders International AB is seeking an experienced BI Specialist to develop and evolve our data analytics landscape. You will lead Cognos DataWarehouse design, maintain ETL pipelines from Infor M3 to the data lake, and build Power BI reports for finance, operations, and sales.

You will collaborate with Finance, IT, and business leaders to translate requirements into scalable BI solutions, ensuring data quality and timely insights across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Degree in BI, CS, Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4–7 years of hands-on BI/analytics experience.

Responsibilities

About the role

Hilding Anders is looking for an experienced BI Specialist to develop, maintain, and evolve our Business Intelligence and planning landscape. You will be the primary expert across, IBM Cognos DataWarehouse, our ETL pipelines connected to the Infor M3 Datalake, and Power BI — ensuring that our business has reliable, timely, and insightful data to support decision‑making across the organization.

This is a technically hands‑on role with strong business impact. You will collaborate closely with Finance, Operations, Sales, and IT to translate business requirements into robust BI solutions — from data modelling and ETL pipeline management through to report delivery and planning model maintenance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES
IBM Cognos DataWarehouse & reporting
  • Design and maintain data warehouse structures, schemas, and data models to support business reporting needs.
  • Develop, test, and publish Cognos Analytics (Report Studio / Analytics Studio) reports, dashboards, and ad‑hoc queries.
  • Manage the Cognos framework manager metadata layer and ensure alignment with source system data structures.
  • Monitor data warehouse performance and work with IT to optimize query execution and load processes.
ETL & Infor M3 Datalake
  • Own and maintain ETL pipelines that extract, transform, and load data from the Infor M3 Datalake into the data warehouse and BI tools.
  • Monitor ETL job execution, triage failures, and ensure data arrives accurately and on schedule.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of M3 data structures, tables, and business processes to ensure accurate data transformation.
  • Develop data quality checks and validation routines to ensure integrity across the data pipeline.
Power BI
  • Develop and maintain Power BI reports, datasets, and semantic models (DAX / Power Query) for operational and management reporting.
  • Manage Power BI workspace governance, access control, and deployment pipelines.
  • Identify opportunities to consolidate or rationalize Power BI cubes within the broader BI architecture.
Stakeholder collaboration & support
  • Work with Finance, Sales, Operations, and senior management to gather requirements and deliver BI solutions that support strategic decision‑making.
  • Provide training and second‑line support to business users of BI and planning tools.
  • Maintain documentation covering data definitions, model logic, report specifications, and ETL mappings.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION
Education & experience
  • Degree in Business Intelligence, Computer Science, Finance, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4–7 years of hands‑on experience in BI or analytics roles.
  • Proven track record of delivering BI solutions in a complex, multi‑source data environment.
Technical skills
  • IBM Cognos Analytics: Report Studio, Framework Manager, data modules, and dashboard authoring.
  • ETL & data integration: experience with ETL tooling and pipelines feeding from ERP / Datalake sources.
  • Infor M3 data: familiarity with M3 data structures, the M3 Datalake, and core ERP business processes.
  • Power BI: DAX, Power Query (M), semantic modelling, and Power BI Service administration.
  • SQL: strong SQL / T‑SQL skills for data modelling, transformation, and troubleshooting.
  • Data warehousing: dimensional modelling (star/snowflake schema), data vault concepts, and DWH best practices.
Domain knowledge
  • Strong understanding of financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
  • Familiarity with retail or manufacturing business processes — sales, inventory, supply chain, and operations reporting.
  • Experience translating business requirements into data models and analytical outputs.
NICE TO HAVE
  • Microsoft Power BI certification (PL‑300 or equivalent).
  • Experience with cloud‑based data platforms (Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake, Databricks).
  • Python or R scripting for data preparation and analysis.
  • Experience with BI governance, data catalogue tools, or master data management.
  • Knowledge of Infor M3 reporting modules or ION Analytics.
