We believe open source is transforming how enterprises solve business needs. Open source is fundamental to the software landscape and will have an even bigger impact as it moves into specialised vertical markets. Our product managers set the vision and direction to ensure teams deliver the right products in the right markets at the right time, and push the boundaries of the technology landscape to identify and deliver products into new and existing market opportunities.
Smart Network Interface Cards (Smart NICs, including DPU, IPU, etc) are gaining functionality and processing power to offload more workloads from the host. Networking equipment with proprietary NOS is being replaced by whitebox hardware running Linux-based NOS. This creates a need for a reliable, open and easy-to-use operating system to host these functionalities and workloads. Linux is positioned as the kernel and a platform for this ecosystem. Leveraging and complementing Ubuntu, Ubuntu Core, OpenStack, Kubernetes and Juju, Canonical is creating products and services addressing security, device management and orchestration between the Smart NIC, its host, ToR switches and gateways. This role encompasses leadership of the product and go-to-market in the Smart NIC and ToR switches sector and requires an analytical storyteller with strong message discipline and understanding of challenges in leveraging Smart NIC and ToR technologies with Linux. Experience with software engineering management is preferred for those aiming to define product strategy and drive engagement. You will engage with the broader open-source community and industry-leading partners to develop Smart NIC and ToR solutions and contribute to Canonical products across devices and use cases.

They collaborate with engineering, design, marketing, sales, and management to gather insights, align business goals with market needs, and drive product success and overall business strategy. Canonical seeks product managers with a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, project management skills, and effective communication to deliver technology products that meet user needs and business objectives.
