Job summary

LunaLEC AB in Sweden is seeking a Process Engineer to take our sheet-to-sheet production to roll-to-roll and build a partner network for scaling manufacturing.

You will lead process development, ensure quality and compliance, and collaborate with suppliers and customers on EU projects. The role includes international travel and remote work with regular visits to the Umeå area.

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Engineering with a background in materials, chemical engineering or physics.
• Experience with production, roll-to-roll, and process development.
• Experience scaling production and printed electronics is meritorious.
• Fluent in English communication.

About us

LunaLEC is a Swedish deep tech company that has mastered printed light. Just like text on a newspaper, the light-emitting structure is printed, forming a thin, patterned, flexible device. The light-emitting electrochemical cell (LEC) technology is built on 30 years of research, during which the team behind LunaLEC became the first in the world to fully print a light source. The technology is protected by several patents.

We are now taking the LEC technology from the lab to large-scale roll-to-roll production. This is your opportunity to be part of it from the start and build something significant, as well as working with technology that is not yet on the market. About the role

As Process Engineer, you will be the one who takes our process from the lab to industry. You will transfer today's sheet-to-sheet manufacturing to roll-to-roll and build the network of partners who will handle production, from substrates and printing to lamination and quality control. You will work closely with a team with deep expertise in the materials and the technology, while contributing with your experience in production. The role is new, and you will have a strong say in how it takes shape.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and owning the scale-up of our production from sheet-to-sheet to roll-to-roll
• Implementing and optimising our processes in production environments with partners and in existing facilities
• Leading the collaboration with our production partners and taking part in customer and partner demos as well as EU projects
• Being responsible for quality, routines and compliance in production
• Travelling internationally to implement and follow up production on site

We believe that you…

…hold a Master of Science in Engineering, for example in materials engineering, chemical engineering or physics. You have experience of production, roll-to-roll and process development. Experience of scaling a production process, solution based device fabrication at scale and printed electronics are merits. You communicate fluently in English.
