Stegra is seeking a Process Engineer for Direct Reduction to optimize hydrogen production and direct reduction plants. You will work across Operations, Maintenance, Automation, and external partners to drive improvements and ensure safe, stable operations at the Boden site in Northern Sweden.

You should bring a degree in Chemical/Process Engineering and hands-on experience with industrial direct reduction processes, commissioning, and process optimization.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
• Solid process engineering experience from a direct reduction/industrial plant.
• Experience with commissioning, start-ups, process optimization, or operational improvements.

Responsabilités

• Provide day-to-day process engineering support to ensure safe, stable operations.
• Monitor plant performance, troubleshoot upsets, and lead root cause analyses for reliability.
• Optimize process performance through modelling, heat/mass balances, debottlenecking, energy efficiency.
• Support direct reduction operations during commissioning, start-ups, shutdowns, and changes.
• Review and develop PFDs, P&IDs, process calculations, SOPs, and control strategies.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Automation, and OEM partners to improve performance.
• Drive continuous improvement projects and prepare technical reports for data-driven decisions.
• Promote safe operations by supporting process safety activities and hydrogen standards.
