Job summary

Gemkom Engineering and Machinery Filial seeks a Piping Fitter Team Leader to lead installation and maintenance of piping systems at the Boden project site. You will interpret drawings, install piping components, and ensure safe, efficient operation.

You will work with mechanical engineers and supervisors to meet schedules, perform inspections, and uphold safety standards on site. Experience in industrial or plant settings is preferred; strong teamwork and communication are valued.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Piping Fitter or Mechanical Fitter in industrial, construction, or plant environments.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and piping layouts.
• Knowledge of piping materials, fittings, valves, and installation techniques.
• Experience with hand tools, power tools, and pipe fabrication equipment.
• Basic understanding of safety procedures and industry standards.

Responsibilities

Gemkom Engineering and Machinery Filial is a newly established branch of the Turkish company Gemkom. It is a leading engineering and manufacturing company that operates in a number of areas and in various ways within the steel industry.

We are participating in a project where Stegra AB establishes a steel mill in Norra Svartbyn in Boden where steel will be produced through an almost fossil-free process using hydrogen gas. Our mission is, among other things, to install machines used in steel production and includes work in mechanics, electronics and plumbing.

Job Description

The Piping Fitter Team Leader is responsible for the installation, assembly, maintenance, and repair of piping systems and mechanical equipment in accordance with engineering drawings, technical specifications, and industry standards. The role involves working with various mechanical components and ensuring systems are installed safely, accurately, and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

· Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications related to piping and mechanical systems.

· Assemble, install, and fit piping systems, valves, pumps, and associated mechanical components.

· Perform alignment, adjustment, and fitting to ensure proper functioning of piping and mechanical equipment.

· Install and assemble mechanical equipment including rotary and static equipment, conveyors, vessels, and storage tanks.

· Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.

· Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of piping systems and mechanical equipment.

· Ensure proper installation of supports, brackets, and hangers for piping systems.

· Work closely with mechanical engineers, supervisors, and other team members to meet project schedules and deadlines.

· Follow all safety regulations, company procedures, and industry best practices during installation and maintenance work.

· Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition.
