Job summary

SLU in Uppsala is seeking a motivated PhD student to engage in enzymatic modification of hemicellulose for bio-based materials. You will work at the forefront of chemistry and biotechnology, utilizing advanced analytical techniques.

The project offers extensive laboratory work in a collaborative environment, with oversight duties included. Suitable for candidates holding a Master’s degree in relevant fields, highlighting both laboratory and approach skills essential for innovative research.

Qualifications

• Must have been awarded a second-cycle (Master’s) qualification.
• At least 60 HEC in chemistry-related subjects including a degree project.
• Must meet English language requirements equivalent to Swedish upper-secondary qualification Engelska B/6.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research in organic chemistry and biotechnology.
• Utilize NMR spectroscopy for structural analysis of enzymes.
• Supervise up to 20% of the time in laboratory settings.
