Job summary

Qualifications

• General entry requirements: a second-cycle degree or 240 higher education credits, of which 60 must be in the second cycle.
• Specific entry requirements: at least 45 credits in natural sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Physics or Meteorology) including a 30‑credit thesis, and 30 credits in other natural science subjects.
• Selection criteria include documented knowledge in a relevant field, analytical and creative thinking, initiative, independence, collaboration, and English proficiency.
• Prior experience in programming and numerical modelling is considered a merit.

Responsibilities

• Employment as a doctoral student is fixed-term under the Higher Education Ordinance (1993:100) and can total up to four years full-time.
• The position may include up to 20% duties in teaching, research and administration.
• Appointments start for a maximum of one year at a time, with renewals for up to two years.
