You will contribute to multiple parallel projects, gaining expertise in histology, tissue clearing, and three-dimensional imaging while collaborating across researchers to advance pain research.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant biological field or expected completion before start.
  • Hands-on experience in a biomedical lab with histology or imaging.
  • Experience with tissue prep, immunofluorescence, or microscopy-based methods.
  • Ability to follow protocols and maintain structured records.
  • Excellent written and spoken English in an international group.
  • Experience with whole-tissue clearing and immunolabeling methods.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process neural tissue for histology and imaging analyses.
  • Perform cryostat/vibratome sectioning and contribute to immunofluorescence experiments.
  • Conduct tissue clearing and immunolabelling for 3D imaging.
  • Acquire microscopy data with confocal and light-sheet systems.
  • Process and quantitatively analyze imaging data and register to brain atlases.
  • Document experiments and manage large imaging datasets per QA procedures.
  • Assist with reagent prep, sample handling, and routine lab operations.
  • Present results at group meetings and collaborate within the lab.
  • Support additional molecular, histological, and imaging methods as needed.
