Job summary

TechNET IT Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Senior Network Security Engineer to drive a major network security and wireless transformation in Sweden. The role is onsite in Södertälje with travel to Gothenburg as required, split between network security and wireless work.

You will design and support secure architectures, manage firewalls (Cisco/Palo Alto), and deploy Zscaler ZPA/ZIA while coordinating with IAM/NAC and SIEM teams. Strong communication is essential.

Job description

Location: Södertälje, Sweden – onsite with travel to Gothenburg as required

Contract Rate: Up to $450 per day

Contract: Initial 6-month contract

We are looking for an experienced Senior Network Security Engineer to support a major enterprise network security and wireless transformation programme in Sweden.

The position will be split approximately 70% Network Security / 30% Enterprise Wireless, making this an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong network security expertise combined with hands‑on Cisco wireless experience.

The successful candidate will work closely with technical teams and business stakeholders, so excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non‑technical audiences are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement and support secure enterprise network architectures.
• Support network security initiatives across a large‑scale enterprise environment.
• Configure, manage and troubleshoot enterprise firewall technologies, including Cisco and Palo Alto.
• Work with Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) and Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA).
• Support intrusion detection/prevention, SIEM and security incident response activities.
• Work with Identity & Access Management (IAM) and Network Access Control (NAC) solutions.
• Follow enterprise governance, ITSM and CMDB processes.
• Support enterprise wireless network design, implementation and troubleshooting.
• Conduct and interpret wireless site surveys and heat maps.
• Design and support multipath routing and failover solutions.
• Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders across the organisation.
• Travel to operational sites when required.
• Strong professional background in Network Security and secure network design.
• Hands‑on experience with Zscaler ZPA and ZIA.
• Strong firewall experience, ideally Cisco and/or Palo Alto.
• Experience with IDS/IPS, SIEM and security incident response.
• Strong Cisco enterprise wireless networking experience.
• Knowledge of 802.11k, 802.11v and 802.11w.
• Experience with Wi‑Fi 6 or newer wireless technologies.
• Strong understanding of wireless site survey methodologies.
• Experience analysing wireless heat maps and network behaviour.
• Experience designing and supporting multipath routing with failover.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly the ability to communicate technical concepts to non‑technical business stakeholders.
• Willing and able to work onsite in Södertälje and travel to Gothenburg when required.

Desirable Certifications

Relevant certifications may include:

• Zscaler Zero Trust Certified Associate
• Check Point CCSA / CCSE
• CISSP or CompTIA Security+
