Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Volvo, located in Gothenburg. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive development, with the ability to work independently on mechanical design projects from concept through to drawing release.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct mechanical design work, from initial concepts to finalized drawings.
• Ensure designs align with automotive production and industrialization processes.
• Work proficiently in CAD design software, preferably Creo.
• Demonstrate knowledge of systems such as KOLA, TIKA, PDM Link, and the Volvo release process (preferable).
• Establish drawings and manage the design process independently.
• Apply personal creativity, problem-solving skills, and take accountability to drive results.

Qualifications

• Solid automotive development experience with knowledge of production and industrialization processes.
• Proficient in CAD design, with a preference for Creo software.
• Experience in the design process, including creating and releasing technical drawings.
• Familiarity with Volvo’s internal systems and processes is highly advantageous.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Strong problem-solving skills, creativity, and a results-driven mindset.
