Job summary

European Data Centre Main Contractor is looking for an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager for a major data centre project in Skellefteå, Sweden. With at least eight years of experience in mechanical construction, you will manage HVAC and piping works, ensuring quality and timely delivery.

This role offers a competitive salary of up to €110,000 and a full overseas package, including accommodation support and return flights.

The Company

This specialist data centre main contractor delivers large scale mission critical projects across Europe, providing full turnkey solutions from design and construction through to commissioning.

With a strong pipeline of European data centre projects, they are looking for an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager to join the site team on a major development in Skellefteå, Sweden.

The Role: Mechanical Construction Manager

As Mechanical Construction Manager, you will manage the day-to-day delivery of mechanical construction works, with responsibility for HVAC, piping and associated mechanical services.

Working closely with the Mechanical Lead, Project Manager, planners, commercial team and design team, you will manage mechanical subcontractors, programme, QA/QC and coordination through construction, snagging and handover.

Must Have Requirements

• Must have 8+ years’ experience within mechanical construction, with strong site management experience
• Proven experience required managing HVAC, piping and associated mechanical services on large scale construction projects
• Strong experience managing mechanical subcontractors, manpower and programme delivery
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or similar discipline required

Preferred Experience

• Data centre or mission critical construction experience preferred
• Large scale industrial project experience beneficial
• Strong understanding of mechanical commissioning and handover
• Experience coordinating mechanical installations with other trades

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day mechanical construction activities on site
• Coordinate HVAC, piping and associated mechanical installations
• Manage mechanical subcontractors, manpower and progress against programme
• Maintain mechanical QA/QC standards and project documentation
• Coordinate schedules with planners, Project Managers and subcontractors
• Review drawings, specifications and technical submittals
• Lead mechanical site, engineering and planning meetings
• Drive health and safety standards across mechanical works
• Liaise with the design team to resolve technical and coordination issues
• Track variations and support the commercial team with cost control
• Issue progress reports to senior management and the wider project team
• Manage snagging, close-out and handover of mechanical works

About You

You will be an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager with at least eight years’ experience in mechanical construction and a strong background managing large scale HVAC and piping installations.

You should be comfortable managing subcontractors and site teams, driving programme and quality, and resolving technical issues before they affect construction. Previous data centre, mission critical or major industrial project experience would be particularly relevant.
