Job summary

Swedish Match is transforming its operations and seeks a Sustainability Engineer to strengthen environment, health and safety practices at factory level. You will deploy systems, programs and training to protect people, reduce risks, and enable long-term performance.

You will drive a culture of safety and sustainability, coach managers, lead audits and inspections, and report performance to stakeholders across the manufacturing team.

Qualifications

• Relevant education in environment, safety or engineering.
• 2–3 years’ experience in manufacturing EHS.
• Proficient in Swedish and English.
• Solid knowledge of EHS legal requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Clear communicator and cross-functional collaborator.
• Experience with audits, inspections and incident investigations.
• Ability to coach and influence stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy environment, health and safety systems and programs.
• Advise and coach managers on sustainability practices and safe behaviors.
• Identify workplace risks and plan actions to reduce hazards.
• Plan inspections, audits, risk assessments and emergency preparedness.
• Support sustainability projects and propose performance improvements.
• Maintain training records for employees, contractors and visitors.
• Report sustainability performance indicators to stakeholders.
