Job description

Want to shape the future of waterborne transport and join a world-class team?

Candela is the global leader in electric hydrofoil vessels. Since 2014, we’ve gone from building our first premium electric speedboat in a small Stockholm workshop to delivering game-changing vessels around the globe. The Candela P-12 is our latest innovation - the world’s first electric hydrofoil ferry is not just operating in Stockholm, but now attracting orders from around the world.

Our boats “fly” thanks to computer-guided underwater wings under the hull made out of lightweight carbon fiber. The wings lift the vessel above the water, which results in cutting energy use by up to 80%, while offering zero emissions and a far better passenger experience than traditional diesel vessels.
And that’s exactly why we do this. Our mission is clear: to speed up the transition to fossil fuel–free lakes and oceans. You can be part of the amazing team in Candela now! We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to support Candela’s future growth ambitions.

As a Maintenance Technician, you will play an important role in ensuring the reliability and availability of Candela’s production facility. You will work hands‑on with the maintenance, repair and preparation of production equipment, as well as approximately 60–70 moulds, jigs and fixtures. The role is broad and practical, covering areas such as composites, metalwork, woodworking, mechanics, welding and surface finishing. You will help the team respond quickly to urgent tooling and equipment issues while also creating more capacity for preventive maintenance. By ensuring that our tooling and production equipment are safe, well‑maintained and ready for use, you will play a key role in supporting a stable and efficient production environment at Candela.

Your core responsibilities will include:
  • Inspect, prepare, assemble, maintain and repair moulds, jigs, fixtures and other production tooling.
  • Perform hands‑on repairs and maintenance across composite, metal, wood and mechanical equipment.
  • Carry out grinding, sanding, polishing and other surface finishing work to ensure tooling and equipment meet required standards.
  • Respond to urgent tooling and factory-equipment issues, troubleshooting problems and determining the appropriate repair or follow‑up action.
  • Support tooling changes, production preparation and other day‑to‑day maintenance needs across the factory.
  • Diagnose equipment and tooling issues and assess whether repairs can be carried out internally or require external support.
  • Support general factory maintenance activities when required, helping to keep the production environment safe, organized and operational.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of maintenance routines, processes and documentation while sharing knowledge and supporting the existing Maintenance team.
  • Maintain high standards of safety, quality and reliability across all maintenance and tooling activities.
Requirements:

· Vocational technical education in industrial maintenance, mechanics, fabrication, welding, boatbuilding or a related field. Equivalent practical experience can compensate for formal education.

· Hands‑on experience from industrial maintenance, manufacturing or a workshop environment.

· Experience working with moulds, jigs, fixtures and production tooling.

· Practical experience with composite materials, including repair, bonding, surface preparation and finishing.

· Good practical skills in mechanics, metalworking and/or woodworking, including basic troubleshooting and assembly.

· Experience with grinding, sanding and polishing, and safe use of hand and power tools.

· Ability to read and follow technical drawings and work instructions.

We believe you are a hands‑on and practical team player who takes a positive, solution‑oriented approach to solving problems. You enjoy working in a fast‑paced production environment and are comfortable taking initiative when issues arise. You have a strong sense of responsibility, with a focus on safety, quality and reliability. You are adaptable and willing to support across a broad range of maintenance activities, while also being able to work independently and prioritize tasks based on production needs.

Form of employment: Full‑time with initial 6 month probation period
Start date: ASAP
Location/base: Rotebro
Team: Production
Reporting to: VP of Production
