Job summary

ALTEN is seeking an experienced hardware engineer to join our Swedish automotive team in Gothenburg. You will design and develop hardware for advanced display systems and lead projects from concept to production, ensuring ISO 26262 and AUTOSAR compliance.

You will collaborate with software, mechanical and purchasing teams, manage suppliers, perform testing and validation, and contribute to risk assessment and planning in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in hardware engineering, preferably within the automotive industry.
• Local automotive experience (Sweden-based projects or employers).
• Proven experience in hardware development for display systems, infotainment, instrument clusters, or similar interior components.
• Project management and supplier management experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of: Display technologies (TFT, OLED, LCD, HUD, touch panels).
• Strong technical knowledge of: Automotive hardware standards (ISO 26262, AUTOSAR, IATF 16949).
• Strong technical knowledge of: Hardware design tools (Altium, OrCAD, KiCad, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Develop and design hardware solutions for automotive display systems (TFT, OLED, LCD, HUD, touch panels).
• Lead hardware projects from concept to production, ensuring compliance with automotive standards (ISO 26262, AUTOSAR).
• Manage supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery of display components while maintaining quality and cost targets.
• Collaborate with software, mechanical, and purchasing teams to integrate display systems into vehicle architectures.
• Conduct testing and validation of hardware components to ensure they meet functional and safety requirements.
• Contribute to project planning, risk assessment, and problem-solving for display-related hardware challenges.
