Job summary

CorPower Ocean is seeking a Senior Assembly Technician to lead the assembly and integration of wave energy drive-train systems. You will be based in our operations and work closely with Engineering, Supply Chain and Marine Operations to turn concepts into working technology for a cleaner planet.

The role involves extensive travel (approximately 75%) to Kristinehamn, Sweden, and Viana do Castelo, Portugal, to supervise assemblies, testing, and supplier interfaces.

Qualifications

• 7+ years hands-on experience leading assembly and testing of advanced mechanical and/or electrical systems.
• Experience with electromechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical assembly and service methods.
• Strong cross-disciplinary collaboration skills.
• Ability to document and refine assembly procedures for efficiency and repeatability.
• Excellent English communication; Swedish preferred but not essential.
• Willingness to travel extensively and on short notice.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical leadership for assembly of drive train products (Power Take-Off).
• Meet performance, schedule, and budget targets for projects.
• Translate engineering designs into practical assembly procedures.
• Embed DFA principles early in development processes.
• Represent CorPower Ocean with external partners and suppliers.
• Drive continuous improvement in quality, throughput and cost.
• Industrialize products and scale manufacturing capacity.
• Ensure safety, quality and environmental compliance.
• Develop schedules aligned with milestones and offshore deployment timelines.
• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary assembly team and promote safety culture.
• Train Assembly, Operations & Maintenance engineers on PTO assembly and service.
• Support procurement with component and supplier selection and factory acceptance testing.
• Assist testing and pilot installations in the field.
