Job summary

Bosch Thermoteknik AB in Tranås, Sweden, offers a six-month internship in Manufacturing Operations and Engineering. You will support Lean initiatives, KPI development, time data management, and shopfloor improvements while contributing to digital solutions using Power BI and other tools.

You will work on Kaizen-driven projects, problem solving, and ergonomic assessments, gaining broad insight into manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• Currently studying Engineering or Industrial Engineering, preferably in Master's program.
• Analytical skills and ability to quickly understand and work with new topics.
• Solution-oriented mindset.
• Ability to work independently and to take responsibility for own work.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point.
• Working knowledge of digital tools like PowerBI, programming
• Result-oriented and pro-active attitude.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English - Swedish and/or German as advantage

Responsibilities

• Support Lean Principles and drive S-CIP, 5S, TPM, Kaizen in manufacturing.
• Develop KPI trees and link data sources to a plant-level Power BI dashboard.
• Manage time data: time study, MTM, line balancing.
• Ergonomic evaluation of workstations in production areas.
• Provide digital solutions in production (e.g., Power BI dashboards for KPIs).
• Drive Kaizen-based process improvements and problem-solving on the shop floor.
• Analyze manufacturing data like downtimes, cycle times, first-pass yield and derive actions.
• Implement technical improvements on the shop floor to meet targets.
• Standardize processes and routines.
• Support general organizational tasks and special projects.

During your internship you will support the local colleagues with their daily tasks. You will support or even drive topics on your own in the following areas:

• Lean Principles - Support in driving S-CIP, 5S, TPM, Kaizen
• KPI tree - linked from different department data source to common plant level power BI dashboard
• Time data management - Time study, MTM, Line Balancing
• Ergonomic evaluation of Workstations in direct & indirect Production Areas
• Providing digital solutions in production e.g., Tact & Andon system, Downtime Monitor, Power BI Dashboards for various KPI's
• Driving technical/ process improvement projects in manufacturing with Kaizen-method
• Driving problem-solving using techniques like 8D and problem solving sheet
• Analyzing manufacturing-related data like downtimes, cycle times or first-pass rate and derive actions
• Implementing technical solutions/ improvements on the shopfloor to support target achievement
• Standardizing processes and routines

Furthermore, you will support with general organizational tasks and contribute to special projects.

While working with us, you will gain a broad insight into different areas of Manufacturing Operations and Engineering and familiarize yourself with manufacturing and assembly processes.

Additional Information
