Job summary

SEB is a technology-driven financial institution expanding its Mainframe infrastructure in Solna, Stockholm area. We seek an engineer/system programmer to maintain servers, storage and OS software for optimal performance within a skilled team of eight.

The role includes 24/7 on-call duties when needed, contributing to a modern Mainframe environment aligned with SEB's digital roadmap. You bring several years of Mainframe experience, IBM Z hardware knowledge, and strong collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years’ experience with Mainframe platform as a system programmer.
• Knowledge of IBM Z hardware, z/OS, SMP, HCD, VTAM, TCP/IP.
• Experience with storage subsystems (DFSMS) and GDPS is meritorious.
• Fluent in Swedish and English.

We are looking for an engineer/system programmer who will be part of a team working with Mainframe infrastructure, storage and belonging services to the Mainframe platform. The team is part of SEB Technology and located in Solna in the Stockholm area. Mainframe is a vital platform within SEB where we work a lot with modernization and where many different initiatives are ongoing connected to Mainframe platform. At SEB we strive towards a modern Mainframe environment well aligned with our digital roadmap.

About the role

As an engineer/system programmer, you will work with maintaining and managing the servers, storage and other belonging hardware, as well as OS and related software products, for best performance and optimization.

You will be responsible, together with the team of 8 people, for daily maintenance, support and technical development of the mainframe platform and storage environment. Maintenance and operation of mainframe infrastructure is of outmost importance as many critical applications for the bank are running on the platform. Handling the environment is a critical undertaking as excellent performance is of outmost importance in any delivery performed in mainframe. New requirements on IT delivery and how to handle storage data put new demands on different solutions for fulfilling them.

The team has scheduled on-call 7/24 and that will also be included in this role when suitable.

Who are you?

You are a skilled technician/system programmer with some years of experience of working within Mainframe environment. You are analytic and structured in your work and understand the importance in following processes when working in critical environments. Cooperation in the team is important, as the team has great own responsibility for their deliveries. In addition, the ability to independently run your own activities and take responsibility for them is necessary. Enjoy working with colleagues, developing as an engineer and have a positive 'can-do' attitude is of great importance.

We are looking for you who have the following qualifications

• At least 3 years’ experience regarding Mainframe platform as a system programmer
• Knowledge of IBM Z hardware, z/OS, SMP, HCD, VTAM, TCP/IP
• Experience within storage subsystems (DFSMS) and GDPS is meritorious
• Fluent in both Swedish and English language
