Job summary

Vattenfall is seeking a Wind Farm System Designer (Junior/Advanced Engineer) to turn complex technical and economic data into actionable insights for Europe’s offshore wind projects. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to perform techno-economic assessments, design wind farm concepts, and pursue value improvements through data-driven analytics and automation.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in engineering, economics, data science, mathematics or physics.
• PhD is considered an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities and ability to turn complex information into insights and recommendations.
• Experience in technical, innovation-driven or cost-engineering environments.
• Interest in Python and applying AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency.
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Perform techno-economic assessments to evaluate offshore wind farm concepts and support strategic decisions.
• Develop offshore wind farm designs balancing energy production, cost, feasibility and environmental constraints.
• Drive levelised energy cost and value improvement by challenging assumptions and exploring new concepts.
• Translate complex information into clear recommendations through executive reporting.
• Build data-driven analyses and automation solutions using Python and modern analytics platforms.
• Develop neutral reference cases to evaluate future technologies for informed decision-making.
