Job summary

WeQuel in Västerås, Sweden is seeking a Hardware Engineer Softstarter to drive electronics hardware from concept to serial production, collaborating with software, system architecture and production engineering.

You will develop analog and digital circuits, create schematics, define PCB layout requirements, and verify through prototype testing and lab validation. The role combines hands-on design with documentation and cross-functional coordination.

Qualifications

• B.Sc./M.Sc in Electronics Engineering, Embedded Systems, or related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in electronics development within embedded systems.
• Strong hardware design experience, circuit diagrams.
• Experience with simulation tools.
• Hands-on prototype testing and validation in a laboratory environment.
• Ability to independently drive hardware development activities.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop analog and digital electronic circuits from concept to serial production.
• Create schematics and define requirements and constraints for PCB layout.
• Define verification specifications and perform simulation, prototype testing and hardware verification.
• Document developed solutions and support implementation within production engineering.
• Translate market and system requirements into hardware requirements with product owners and software developers.
• Take responsibility for hardware development activities, including risk identification and coordination with suppliers.
• Monitor new technologies and identify opportunities for future product development.
• Contribute to technical innovation and IP development.
