Job summary

Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg is seeking a Research Engineer to drive the experimental side of a PoC project on trimming frequencies of transmon qubits. The role is based in a high-tech quantum lab, requiring precise measurements and cryogenic operations.

You will collaborate with the Quantum Technology Laboratory and fabrication teams to validate trimming processes and achieve design specifications for superconducting qubits.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in physics, electrical engineering, nanotechnology or related field.
• Experience with DC, AC and RF measurements.
• Competence with low-voltage measurements using SMUs; familiarity with spectrum analyzers, signal generators and lock-in amplifiers.
• Basic to intermediate Python or MATLAB for data analysis and instrument control.

Responsibilities

• Experimental design and optimization of post-fabrication frequency trimming for superconducting qubits.
• Perform high-precision DC, AC and RF measurements in a high-tech lab.
• Operate cryogenic systems such as dilution refrigerators or cryostats.
• Automate measurement routines in Python/MATLAB and analyze complex data sets.
• Collaborate with fabrication teams and academic partners at Chalmers.
