Job description

Group Leader in Molecular Infection Medicine

The Laboratory for Molecular Infection Medicine Sweden (MIMS) is looking for an excellent early‑career researcher to become Group Leader for innovative research in molecular infection medicine. The topic includes research on the biology of bacteria, viruses, parasites, the microbiome and how these interact with the host immune system.

Tasks

• Lead and conduct research in molecular infection medicine within the MIMS research environment.
• Seek external funds to support your own research.
• Conduct postgraduate education in the subject area (optional).
• Perform administrative duties and assignments within the host department.
• Manage personnel, operations and oversee the research group.

Qualification requirements

Applicants must have a doctorate (or equivalent foreign degree), completed post‑doctoral training in a relevant research area, and demonstrate competence and commitment in training young researchers and supervising scientific theses. Candidates should be within 2 to 7 years of degree completion, with special consideration for exceptional circumstances.
