We work closely with stakeholders across Finance, Legal, Business Control, HR, Treasury, and our international operations, while maintaining strong relationships with tax authorities and external advisors worldwide.

As Global Tax Director, you will be part of the leadership team within Group Tax and play a key role in shaping the future tax agenda of Volvo Cars.

What you'll do

As Global Tax Director, you will lead the direct tax area and drive the global corporate tax strategy and governance framework across Volvo Cars. Reporting to the Head of Tax, you will combine deep technical expertise with people leadership, stakeholder management, and strategic business partnering.

  • Providing leadership, coaching, and support to direct and indirect tax professionals within the team.
  • Acting as the subject matter expert for international and Swedish corporate income tax matters.
  • Driving and overseeing key areas including:
    • OECD Pillar Two / Global Minimum Tax (GloBE)
    • MDR / DAC6 reporting

    • International tax compliance and governance
  • Leading interactions with tax authorities, managing audits, tax disputes, and litigation matters globally.
  • Monitoring international tax developments and evaluating their impact on Volvo Cars.
  • Ensuring effective implementation of new tax legislation and regulatory requirements across the Group.
  • Partnering with business leaders and project teams to secure robust tax structures and compliant business solutions.
  • Providing strategic tax advice to senior stakeholders across the organization.
  • Supporting and developing tax awareness throughout Volvo Cars through training and communication.
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to Finance, Legal, HR, Treasury, and global business operations on tax-related matters.
What you'll bring

You are a collaborative and inspiring leader who combines strong business acumen with deep technical tax expertise. You thrive in an international environment, enjoy solving complex challenges, and build credibility through professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment.

You are equally comfortable discussing strategic business initiatives with senior executives as you are diving into technical tax matters with specialists and external advisors.

We believe you bring:

  • A university degree in Law, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience working with international and Swedish corporate taxation within large multinational organizations, a leading advisory firm, or a tax authority.

  • Experience with Pillar Two, tax accounting, and transfer pricing principles.
  • A solid understanding of accounting, financial reporting, and business operations.
  • Proven experience leading teams, projects, and complex stakeholder environments.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to engage, develop, and inspire others.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing capabilities.
