Job summary

Legora in Stockholm is seeking an Engineering Manager, Foundations to lead the backend team responsible for core services powering the platform. You will architect high-scale systems, mentor engineers, and drive technical excellence across code quality, security, and reliability.

This is a 5-day in-office role based in Stockholm, with ownership over outcomes and a culture of ownership, feedback, and collaboration to deliver value for Legora's global law firms.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of leadership experience in backend/ full-stack roles.
• Experience building and operating high-scale distributed systems and core platform services.
• Comfortable mentoring engineers and driving code quality and security standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a backend team, hiring, mentoring and developing engineers at all levels.
• Own team health and ensure the team can work efficiently and unblock issues.
• Set the technical bar for code quality, security, and system design.
• Design and implement high-scale core backend services and APIs powering Legora’s platform.
• Contribute to the codebase while supporting team growth and architectural decisions.
• Lead architecture discussions and technical decision-making on foundational systems.
• Collaborate with product engineering to provide robust foundations for product teams.
• Review code and provide feedback to engineers at all levels.
• Champion backend best practices and continuous improvement.
• Work with Node.js, Azure, AWS and Kubernetes.
