Job summary

Lovable, a software creation platform, is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineering Lead to scale AI-powered software creation. You'll build and lead the FDE team and work with ambitious customers to turn ideas into real products while staying hands-on.

As part of a small, global FDE leadership group, you'll define engineering standards, shape how the function works with product teams, and help Lovable extend its platform.

Qualifications

• 12+ years across software engineering, technical architecture, and customer-facing engineering.
• Experience leading and developing high-performing technical teams.
• Hands-on as leadership scope grows.
• Strong full-stack fundamentals: React, TypeScript frontend and robust backend development.
• Strong architectural thinking; familiarity with distributed systems.
• Experience owning complex technical engagements end-to-end.
• Exceptional product intuition; able to work directly with users.
• Able to write code, make architectural decisions, lead engineers, and engage with senior stakeholders.
• Comfort with ambiguity, agency, and velocity.

TL;DR - We're looking for a Forward Deployed Engineering Lead to help scale the future of AI-powered software creation. You'll build and lead the FDE team and partner with our most ambitious customers to turn ideas into real products. This is still a hands-on role: you'll design, write, and ship production code alongside your team, while partnering with our other FDE leaders to shape how the function operates globally. About The Role

Most engineering leadership roles move you away from the code. This one keeps you close to the craft and the customer.

You'll build, develop, and lead a team of Forward Deployed Engineers who partner with our customers at the frontier of what Lovable can do, solving hard technical problems across our frontend, backend and AI systems. The goal isn't just to make individual deployments succeed. It's to spot what should become part of the Lovable platform and act on it.

As one of a small group of FDE leaders, you'll set the technical bar for the function and help define how it scales, from its engineering standards and ways of working to how it works with customers and our core product teams.

What We're Looking For

• 12+ years across software engineering, technical architecture, and customer-facing engineering
• Experience leading and developing high-performing technical teams
• A track record of remaining deeply hands-on as your leadership scope has grown
• Strong full-stack engineering fundamentals, including React and TypeScript on the frontend and robust backend development
• Strong architectural thinking and familiarity with distributed systems
• Experience owning complex technical engagements end-to-end
• Exceptional product intuition and ability to work directly with users
• Ability to move comfortably between writing code, making architectural decisions, leading engineers, and working with senior stakeholdersComfort operating with high ambiguity, agency, and velocity

• Scaled a team or technical function from zero
• Worked on agentic AI systems or built with LLMs in production
• Led zero-to-one product development
• Worked in a founding or early startup environment
