Job summary

Hitachi Energy Sweden AB seeks a Fire Engineer to join the TPC department in Ludvika, Sweden, with options for Mannheim or Glasgow as bases. You will coordinate multidisciplinary activities, support design, testing, and commissioning, and ensure projects meet safety and budget constraints.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Fire Engineering, Fire Safety or related field.
• Knowledge of fire codes, standards, regulations, and fire safety principles, with the ability to apply them in practical engineering environments.
• Experience with fire modeling, fire simulation tools, or related analytical methods used to assess fire safety and performance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure fire detection and protection designs comply with applicable standards, regulations, and HVDC-specific requirements.
• Develop and maintain requirement specifications, technical documentation, and design deliverables based on customer requirements, industry standards, and local regulations.
• Coordinate technical interfaces with multiple engineering disciplines throughout all project phases, from design and engineering through testing and commissioning.
• Proactively identify potential technical challenges, risks, and project constraints, and develop mitigation plans to ensure successful project execution.
• Support the onboarding, training, and coaching of new team members and provide technical guidance to customers when required.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues and engineering teams across different functions and geographical locations, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.
• Develop fire concepts for HVDC tenders, including clarifications, assumptions, and deviations for stakeholders.
• Perform technical risk assessments and implement mitigation measures to ensure robust designs.
