Job summary

ALTEN in Göteborg is seeking a backend developer to join its Cloud & Software Engineering Team. You will implement and maintain Java-based services, build cloud-native solutions on AWS, and contribute to scalable microservices.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of backend experience, strong Java (Spring Boot), and hands-on AWS knowledge; Azure experience is a plus. You will collaborate with platform engineers, architects, and product teams to deliver reliable, customer-facing systems.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of backend development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java (Spring Boot).
• Experience working with AWS; Azure experience is a strong advantage.
• Experience building customer-facing systems.
• Knowledge of AWS Lambda and DynamoDB is a plus.
• BSc/MSc in Engineering, IT, or a related field.

About the team

The team develops and operates a platform that manages connected solutions, enabling real-time monitoring, diagnostics, and over-the-air software updates. The platform processes large volumes of data transmitted from devices, ensuring reliability even during network disruptions.

Your responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using Java
• Build and optimize cloud-native solutions in AWS
• Contribute to scalable microservices architectures
• Ensure high code quality, testability, and maintainability
• Collaborate closely with developers, platform engineers, architects, and product teams

Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for someone with:

• At least 5 years of backend development experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Java (Spring Boot)
• Experience working with AWS
• Azure experience is a strong advantage
• Experience building customer-facing systems
• Experience with AWS serverless services such as Lambda and DynamoDB is considered a plus
• BSc/MSc in Engineering, IT, or a related field

Good to have:

• Knowledge/practical experience from CI/CD and/or DevOps
• Previous experience in connected systems, IoT, or Automotive/Telecom.
