As a System Developer in Ericsson’s Radio Access Network (RAN) organization, you will work at the intersection of technology, problem-solving, and real-world impact. You will help design how mobile networks handle traffic, keep connections reliable, and deliver great experiences as people move between locations, applications, and network conditions.

Join our Team

Imagine helping shape the technology that keeps people connected every day.

System design is about understanding the bigger picture and turning needs into working technical solutions. You will explore ideas, study alternatives, define how different network functions and software components should work together, and help guide solutions from concept to development and deployment.

This is an opportunity to learn from experienced engineers while contributing to the evolution of world-class 5G systems and the transition toward 6G. If you are curious about how complex technology works, enjoy solving problems together with others, and want to see your ideas become part of products used around the world, this could be the place to start your career.

What you will do

You will work alongside experienced system developers and technical experts to:

  • Develop and evolve RAN Traffic Control functionality, including mobility, traffic steering, traffic handling.
  • Perform system studies and develop technical concepts, translating ideas and requirements into robust RAN system solutions.
  • Drive systemization from an E2E perspective, considering interactions across RAN layers, Core Network and end-user services.
  • Work across the product lifecycle, from early technology exploration and architecture to implementation support, verification and field deployment.
  • Collaborate across technical domains and with customers, contributing technical expertise to both current products and future network evolution.

The role provides significant opportunities to broaden your understanding of RAN as a complete system or develop deep expertise within a specific technical area. Over time, you may take on wider technical responsibilities and lead complex studies, functionality areas or technical programs.

The skills you bring
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams and technical domains.
  • MSc or higher in a relevant technical field, or equivalent knowledge and experience. Education and experience in telecommunication are beneficial.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and an interest in understanding complex systems.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications, wireless communication or RAN system architecture. Experience with mobility, traffic management or user-plane functionality is an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills in English and the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Experience in system development, systemization or related technical roles is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML and cloud technologies is considered an additional asset.
