Engineering Manager

Your Role
As an Engineering Manager, you will lead and develop a multidisciplinary team covering systems engineering, optics, sensor technology, ballistics, test and verification, and technical documentation. You will play a key role in strengthening our systems engineering capability and ensuring we deliver world‑class products and innovation. The role combines strategic responsibilities with hands‑on support to the team.
Responsibilities
- Lead, inspire, coach and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team.
- Provide strategic and technical leadership within your team’s responsible areas.
- Own the systems engineering framework, methods and governance, ensuring alignment with recognized standards and best practices.
- Secure effective collaboration and interfaces between systems engineering, product development and verification activities across these domains.
- Support the agile team by promoting collaboration across disciplines, and support our Product Owners with the right resources and continuous improvements in how we work.
- Ensure that engineers within your team deliver high‑quality solutions in all projects.
- Contribute to the company’s strategic goals by increasing efficiency, sustainability and innovation.
- Serve as a role model and create an inclusive work culture focused on equality, diversity and collaboration.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of professional experience within systems engineering from the military sector, working with frameworks such as ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288, FMV:s Handbok Systemsäkerhet (H SystSäk 2022), MIL‑STD‑882E and IPS (Integrated Product Support) / ILS (Integrated Logistic Support).
- Previous experience working as a manager within systems engineering, senior system architect, senior project leader or similar with leadership responsibilities.
- Overall responsibility for establishing and governing advanced, integrated systems across a system‑of‑systems landscape.
- Knowledge of agile methods such as Scrum or Kanban and a commitment to fostering flexibility and innovation.
- A strong ability to create structure and build teams in a dynamic work environment.
- Experience in working with sustainable system solutions.
- Excellent communication, collaboration and relationship‑building skills both internally and externally.
