Job summary

Alstom is seeking an Experienced Cost Engineer to drive cost efficiency in electrical engineering projects. You will collaborate with design, tender and project teams to develop cost-competitive solutions and analyse supplier quotes with detailed cost modelling.

Responsibilities include challenging designs, evaluating cost drivers and establishing governance for design-to-cost initiatives, while supporting procurement negotiations and continuous improvement across functions and countries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic, innovative environment.
• Experience with cost modelling or cost engineering is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering in the design of cost competitive solutions.
• Assess and suggest alternative scenarios to reduce costs.
• Reinforce procurement negotiations through should-cost analysis.
• Challenge designs and supplier quotes with detailed cost modelling and benchmarking.
• Analyse key cost drivers such as materials and manufacturing processes to propose optimized technical solutions.
• Establish governance processes and monitor success factors for design-to-cost initiatives.
