Volvo Group is seeking a Director of Data Governance & Management to lead the Finance data governance strategy, operating model, and roadmap. You will ensure clear data ownership, set standards, and drive data quality across the organization.

The role requires influencing senior leadership, partnering with Group Finance, Tax, Regions, and DTO to maximize value and trust in data through analytics and AI.

Qualifications

  • 10-15 years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Finance Transformation, Business Process Management, Enterprise Data Management, or related disciplines.
  • Proven track record of defining and implementing data governance frameworks, operating models
  • Experience establishing data ownership, stewardship, and data quality practices within large and complex organizations
  • Experience working with Finance processes and business data across multiple functions and organization
  • Experience influencing senior leadership and driving alignment across multiple organizational units

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the FCA Finance Data Governance & Management Strategy and Roadmap
  • Establish and govern the FCA operating model for Finance Data Governance
  • Leverage Enterprise policies, standards, principles and capabilities
  • Represent FCA in relevant Group governance boards, steering committees and forums
  • Drive end-to-end Finance process excellence through a data-driven perspective
  • Define and maintain common business definitions, standards and terminology
  • Drive the FCA Data Quality Framework
  • Ensure effective Data Owner- and Stewardship practices across FCA processes and organizations
  • Secure compliance with regulatory, risk and internal control requirements
  • Ensure transparency and trust in Finance data to maximize business value from data through insights, analytics and AI
  • Enable effective management of Finance data throughout its lifecycle, including lineage, retention and accessibility requirements
  • Drive data maturity across FCA through awareness, training and change management
  • Collaborate with Group Finance Business Office, Tax, Regions, Global Competence Center Process Organizations, VPS network and Digital Technology & Operations (DTO)

We are looking for a Director Data Governance & Management to join FCA Digital & IT. In this role, you will define and drive the FCA Data Governance strategy, operating model, and roadmap, ensuring clear ownership, accountability, and quality of data across the organization. You will collaborate with business, process, and enterprise stakeholders to strengthen governance, improve data maturity, and maximize the value and trust of data.

Financial Control & Accounting (FCA) is a global finance organization in Group Finance responsible for securing finance and tax compliance, accounting and financial reporting for most Business Areas, Truck Divisions, and Group Functions in Volvo Group. FCA also hosts our Global Competence Center Finance providing qualitative, process efficient, automated finance deliveries. We are a truly global organization with around 1400 highly professional colleagues in more than 50 countries, closely integrated with local business operations.

Job Description
  • Define and own the FCA Finance Data Governance & Management Strategy and Roadmap

Qualifications and Experience

Required Experience

  • 10-15 years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Finance Transformation, Business Process Management, Enterprise Data Management, or related disciplines
  • Proven track record of defining and implementing data governance frameworks, operating models
  • Experience establishing data ownership, stewardship, and data quality practices within large and complex organizations
  • Experience working with Finance processes and business data across multiple functions and organization
  • Experience influencing senior leadership and driving alignment across multiple organizational units

Preferred Background

  • Experience from Shared Services, Global Business Services
  • Background in management consulting, enterprise transformation, or governance-related leadership roles
  • Experience supporting ERP transformation programs, preferably SAP S/4HANA.
  • Experience working with enterprise data organizations, data offices, or Chief Data Officer functions
  • Experience collaborating with regulatory, risk, compliance, audit, and internal control functions
