Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a DevOps Engineer in Västerås to design and scale CI/CD pipelines, automating infrastructures with Ansible or Terraform and managing containerized environments using Docker/Podman. You will implement monitoring, perform upgrades, and collaborate across teams to support C++/C# development in a high-volume production setting.

The role emphasizes Linux expertise, scripting with Python, and strong CI/CD experience, with English communication being essential and Swedish a

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Expert skills in Linux, networking, storage and virtualization.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python. Shell and Golang beneficial.
Strong understanding of CI/CD processes and experience designing pipelines using GitHub or GitLab.
Familiarity with build systems (Makefiles, CMake) or Bazel and release management tools (e.g.: Git).
Ability to manage software and infrastructure upgrades with a focus on scalability and performance.
Experience setting up and supporting development environments for C++ and C#. Embedded system developer background beneficial.
Strong English communication skills, Swedish is advantage.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement mission-critical tools and applications for a scalable production environment.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for C++ and C# development environments using Azure DevOps, MS Build, Python and related tools.
Automate infrastructure and software processes with Ansible or Terraform.
Manage containerized environments using Docker or Podman; create and test Windows and Linux images.
Implement full-stack monitoring and alerting with Sensu, Splunk, Logstash or Nagios.
Plan and execute software/infrastructure upgrades based on capacity data.
Manage configuration, variants, and version control with Git, TFVC, Jira release tools.
Streamline development experiences by designing scalable CI/CD processes and optimizing workflows with containers.
