Job summary

NKT in Karlskrona is seeking a Design Engineer to join the Accessories Engineering team. You will design, develop and maintain cable accessory components and assemblies, and you will create and update 3D models, drawings, specifications, bills of materials and engineering documentation throughout the product lifecycle.

The role requires collaboration across product development, manufacturing, testing, installation and service to ensure reliable performance, manufacturability and long-term

Qualifications

• University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Design, Product Development or a related technical discipline.
• Ability to create and interpret technical drawings, 3D models and engineering documentation.
• Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

Design reliable solutions for sustainable energy systems

Do you want to develop engineering solutions that support reliable high-voltage cable systems and contribute to the global green transition? NKT is looking for a Design Engineer to join our Accessories Engineering team in Karlskrona. In this role, you will develop, maintain and improve cable accessory designs throughout the product lifecycle.

As part of a global company, you will combine detailed engineering work with a broader understanding of complete cable systems and their operational environments.

Ensure engineering excellence across the product lifecycle

As a Design Engineer, you will turn technical requirements into practical, reliable and manufacturable solutions. The role combines detailed design activities with close collaboration across product development, customer projects, manufacturing, testing, installation and service.

Working on both new and existing products, you will play an important role in supporting customer delivery projects while safeguarding product integrity and long-term performance.

Your Main Responsibilities Will Include

• Design, develop and maintain cable accessory components and assemblies.


• Create and update 3D models, drawings, specifications, bills of materials and engineering documentation.


• Support manufacturing, installation and service teams with technical guidance and problem solving.


• Investigate technical issues, perform root cause analyses and implement corrective actions.

The position is based in Karlskrona and you will report to Sr Manager Accessories Engineering.
