CoolPeople Technology in Sweden is seeking a Senior Data Engineer / Data Platform Engineer with a strong programming background in Python and experience building modern data solutions in Azure.

This role focuses on creating an internal data engineering platform used by multiple data delivery teams. You will build reusable components and frameworks, enabling data ingestion, quality, and metadata management.

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer / Data Platform Engineer with a strong programming background, particularly in Python, who has experience building modern data solutions in Azure.

This is not a traditional infrastructure Platform Engineer role. In this case, "platform" means an internal data engineering framework/platform used by other data delivery teams.

The ideal candidate should understand both data warehousing and software engineering. They should be capable of building reusable components and frameworks rather than only developing individual ETL pipelines. Experience from a banking or similarly regulated enterprise environment is highly relevant.

What will they do:

The engineer will be part of an agile team responsible for enabling other data engineering/delivery teams.

Their main responsibility will be to develop reusable engineering components and frameworks for data acquisition and data product delivery. Instead of every data team building its own ingestion, validation, metadata handling, or delivery logic, this team provides standardized components that other engineers can reuse.

They will work closely with the Agile Product Owner, Solution Architect, Business Analysts, and engineers from other teams.

Typical responsibilities will include developing reusable Python components, improving data ingestion and delivery frameworks, working with data pipelines and orchestration, supporting data quality and metadata management, and helping other Data Engineers adopt the platform.
