Job summary

Excelgens Consulting Sverige AB is seeking a Data Center Engineer for a hands-on role in Sweden. You will work across data center environments, supporting IT infrastructure hardware, networking, and operations in security-sensitive settings.

Ideal candidates have IT/Networking/Electrical Engineering background, strong troubleshooting skills, and fluent Swedish and English. A driving license (B) and ability to work independently are valued.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

We are looking for a Data Center Engineer to join an exciting assignment with a leading Swedish technology and defense company operating in highly advanced and security-sensitive environments.

This is a hands-on role for someone passionate about data centers, IT infrastructure, hardware, networking, and technical problem-solving. You'll work across client's data center and technical environments, supporting infrastructure that is critical to business operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and assemble racks and data center equipment
• Perform cabling and document physical infrastructure
• Install, replace, upgrade, and configure hardware
• Troubleshoot hardware and infrastructure issues on-site
• Handle incidents requiring physical presence
• Perform systematic troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
• Provide Advanced Local Hands support to remote teams and specialists
• Ensure data center environments meet security, quality, and operational requirements
• Participate in technical projects and infrastructure activities.

What We're Looking For

• Education in IT, networking, electrical engineering, or equivalent professional experience
• Experience with installation, operation, or maintenance of technical infrastructure
• Genuine interest in technology and hands-on troubleshooting
• Good communication skills in Swedish and English
• B driving license
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
• A structured, responsible, and quality-focused approach

Nice to Have

• Experience from large organizations or complex IT environments
• Knowledge of ITIL
• Experience with ISO 27001 / information security
• Previous experience in data center operations
• Experience with business-critical IT infrastructure
