Job summary

Coop Sverige – Together we make food-Sweden sustainable seeks a Senior Data Analyst to join our Analytics team within AI & Business Intelligence, working closely with Data Engineers, Data Scientists and stakeholders across Coop.

You will sit at the intersection of technology and business, translating problems into analytical questions and scalable data products, building dashboards and analytical agents that empower decision making.

Qualifications

• Experience turning business needs into analytical questions and data products.
• Strong SQL and Python skills with PySpark experience.
• Ability to translate insights into actionable business recommendations.
• Experience communicating with non-technical stakeholders.

• Work with large datasets across customer behaviour, sales, assortment, logistics and digital channels and develop scalable and reusable solutions with any tool you see fitting the purpose.

• Challenge existing questions and ways of working – moving from 'can you analyse this?' towards 'this is what we should do.'

Within our AI & Business Intelligence organization, we have built a modern analytics platform that we are proud of – and we are now looking for a Senior Data Analyst to help us turn even more of that data into action.

You will join our Analytics team within AI & Business Intelligence, working closely with Data Engineers, Data Scientists and stakeholders across Coop.

As a Data Analyst, you sit at the intersection of technology and business. The role is not only about answering questions with data, but understanding the problem behind the question, challenging assumptions and determining what we should actually do with the insight.

You will have considerable freedom in how you approach problems. We believe in building reusable, scalable solutions in code rather than repeatedly solving the same problem manually.

What you will do

• Translate business challenges into analytical questions, solutions and recommendations aid all of Coop in decision making
• Work with large datasets across customer behaviour, sales, assortment, logistics and digital channels and develop scalable and reusable solutions with any too you see fitting the purpose.
• Build analytical agents, dashboards, ad hoc analyses or any other data product that democratizes our data.
• Challenge existing questions and ways of working – moving from “can you analyse this?” towards “this is what we should do.”

Who are you?

We believe you enjoy operating at the intersection of data, technology and business. You are curious enough to dig into the details, but can also step back and understand the bigger picture.

You don't see an analysis as finished when the numbers are correct – you want to understand what they mean and what action they should lead to. You are comfortable taking ownership even when the path forward is not completely defined.

We believe that you

• Have experience turning business needs into analytical questions and solutions.
• Are comfortable programming in SQL and Python, with experience of PySpark or similar technologies and have experience working with version control, such as Git.
• Have strong business understanding and can connect analytical findings to concrete actions and can communicate this effectively with any audience.
• Understand fundamental statistical methods and when different analytical approaches are appropriate.

It’s meritorious if you

• Have experience from a modern cloud-based data platform or Lakehouse environment.
• Have worked with providing agentic analysis, analytics engineering, BI tools or code-first analytical workflows.
• Have worked in a scale-up, technology company, consultancy or another environment where broad ownership is expected.
• Have experience from retail, e-commerce or another data-intensive consumer business.
