Job summary

Avarda Group in Borås seeks a skilled Core Ledger Specialist to understand business and financial logic, write clear requirements, verify supplier deliveries, and support the platform configuration.

You will provide hands-on internal support across finance, customer service, and operations, collaborating with suppliers and Product Management, and shaping a modern cloud-native ledger framework from a central team based in Borås.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience with financial or transactional systems in a requirements, analysis, or configuration role.
• Strong understanding of bookkeeping, financial transaction processing, or core banking systems.
• Experience writing clear, detailed requirements and acceptance criteria for externally delivered systems.
• Familiarity with relational databases and SQL.
• Solid understanding of how to verify and test complex system deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Define and document requirements for transaction processing, balance management, and posting logic, to be delivered by external suppliers
• Verify and regression test supplier deliveries to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across all ledger operations
• Collaborate with the Head of Core Ledger IT and suppliers on solution design and technical decisions
• Investigate and resolve complex ledger-related incidents and data discrepancies, working with suppliers when needed
• Maintain clear documentation, including requirements, data flows, test results, and runbooks
• Support internal configuration of the core ledger platform
• Provide hands-on internal support to other teams on day-to-day ledger questions and issues
• Support integration of new products and financial instruments into the ledger framework
• Work closely with QA and the Delivery Manager to ensure supplier deliveries are well tested before approval

Job description

We're looking for a skilled Core Ledger Specialist to join our platform team. Our team does not develop the core ledger systems ourselves - they are built and delivered by external suppliers. Your role is to understand the business and financial logic deeply, define and write clear requirements, verify and regression test what our suppliers deliver, and support internal configuration of the platform. A significant part of this role is providing hands-on internal support to colleagues across the business who rely on the core ledger day to day - this is something all specialists in the team spend a lot of time on. This role calls for strong analytical and technical skills combined with a good understanding of how financial ledgers work.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and document clear, detailed requirements for transaction processing, balance management, and posting logic, to be delivered by external suppliers

Qualifications and Experience

• 4+ years of experience working with financial or transactional systems, in a requirements, analysis, or configuration role
• Strong understanding of bookkeeping, financial transaction processing, or core banking systems
• Experience writing clear, detailed requirements and acceptance chcriteria for systems delivered by external suppliers
• Familiarity with relational databases and ability to query and analyse data (SQL)
• Solid understanding of how to verify and test complex system deliveries

Nice to Have

• Experience working in a regulated financial environment (banking, payments, BNPL)
• Knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting requirements
• Experience working with externally delivered or outsourced systems
• Familiarity with testing frameworks and structured test methodologies

Education

BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Languages

Fluent English is required for this role. Fluent Swedish is not a hard requirement, but is desirable as Swedish is the language spoken locally in the team and will make day-to-day collaboration easier.
