Job summary

Parker Hannifin in Trollhättan, Sweden, seeks a Category Manager to develop and execute procurement strategies for Hydraulic Pump and Motor across Europe. You will lead sourcing projects, negotiate with suppliers, and manage contracts to reduce costs and improve quality.

The role collaborates with supply chain, engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams and reports to the Division Sourcing and Procurement Manager. English fluency required.

Qualifications

• A university degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in category management, strategic sourcing, procurement, or a similar role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant procurement tools or systems.

This position is responsible for developing and executing category strategies across Parker Hannifin’s Hydraulic Pump and Motor Division Europe to reduce material cost, improve supplier performance, enhance quality, and support business growth. The role will lead sourcing projects, supplier negotiations, contract management, and cost-reduction initiatives while working closely with supply chain, engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams. This position reports to the Division Sourcing and Procurement Manager and plays a key role in the division transition from regional European sourcing to a risk diverse global sourcing strategy.

Your Main Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies to improve cost, quality, delivery, and supplier performance.
• Lead sourcing projects, from supplier selection to production implementation.
• Drive cost-reduction initiatives and ensure savings are realized in the business.
• Manage supplier relationships, monitor performance, and address risks or corrective actions.

• Ensure compliance with Parker Hannifin standards, procurement processes, and regulatory requirements.

We are looking for a talent with

• A university degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in category management, strategic sourcing, procurement, or a similar role.
• A good understanding of supply chain, manufacturing, quality, and technical requirements.
• Strong skills in supplier management, contract negotiation, sourcing strategy, and procurement processes.
• Analytical capability to interpret market data, cost drivers, and supplier performance.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to manage multiple projects independently and with a high degree of autonomy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant procurement tools or systems.Fluent English skills; Swedish or other European languages would be an advantage.
